Friends of Indian Art is celebrating 20 years in 2013. Each year the Friends provide members with an exciting program series highlighting the creative work of Native American artists covering a broad spectrum of disciplines. Friends of Indian Art events take place at galleries, sculpture gardens, artist's homes and studios, collector's homes and at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture.
Additionally, the Friends of Indain Art membership dues help support the museum's exhibitions, including They Wove for Horses: Diné Saddle Blankets and Maragrete Bagshaw: Breaking the Rules in 2012. Since its inception, Friends of Indian Arts has purchased more than 50 selected Native American works of art that have been acquired for display at the museum as part of their permanent collection.
Throughout the past 20 years, nearly $200,000 has been contributed to the museum by the Friends of Indian Art. Thank you to past, present and future members who continue to support the Friends of Indian Art's efforts.
