Exhibitions

The New Mexico History Museum’s permanent and changing exhibitions advance the museum’s educational mission to engage visitors and invite community participation in New Mexico’s diverse cultural history.

On any given day, visitors may experience exhibitions that span from the rich pre-Conquest cultures of New Mexico’s Native peoples, to archaeological evidence of the Spanish colonial occupation of Santa Fe, to the legacy of the Fred Harvey Company in creating New Mexico’s iconic brand as a cultural destination. Visitors may also discover exhibitions that highlight the stories of modern-day New Mexico, including works by such notable artists as Agnes Martin, world-class photographers who document New Mexico portraits and landscapes, and the creative car communities whose lowriders epitomize the state’s Hispanic art and heart.
