
Member Day: To Keep Them Warm: The Alaska Native Parka
Members are invited to preview To Keep Them Warm: The Alaska Native Parka at the Museum of International Folk Art before it opens to the public. Parkas are complex expressions of Alaska Native cultures’ deep respect for the animals of land and sea. The harmonious marriage of beauty, function, and resourcefulness, parkas are a living tradition rooted in centuries of indigenous knowledge of material science and design. Email invitation will be sent prior to event.
Circles viewing is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Member viewing is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
