New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs (NMDCA) announced that Danyelle Means (Oglala Lakota) will serve as interim director of Museum of Indian Arts & Culture (MIAC) in Santa Fe, NM beginning January 6. Means, whose many years of experience and wide network in the non-profit, academic, and contemporary Native art sectors, will work closely with MIAC Deputy Director Elisabeth Stone to continue delivering meaningful services and programs to the public.

f24: Native Photography in a Flash will open in the Lloyd Kiva New gallery in January, featuring the photography of Zig Jackson (Rising Buffalo) (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara).
MIAC is pleased to announce that Horizons: Weaving Between the Lines with Diné Textiles will be extended, allowing the museum to highlight weaving traditions with new workshops, lectures, and more to be paired with the publishing of the exhibit catalog this summer.
Patricia Michaels (Taos Pueblo) will open her solo exhibition at the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture on Sunday, May 5. For over 20 years, Patricia Michaels has been producing one-of-a-kind haute couture that transcends cultures and defies fashion trends. Patricia was selected by the museum staff as the recipient of the 2023-2024 MIAC Living Treasure award.
Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass is continuing to tour museums through 2027, thanks to the hard work of curator Dr. Letitia Chambers. The exhibition opened at the Cincinnati Art Museum this past weekend.
