St. John’s College presents Euripides’ Medea 

Every year St. John’s sophomores produce direct and act in a play. This year students from the college are thrilled to bring their play to the Museum of International Folk Art. The students chose to revive a Greek tragedy written in 431 BCE by popular Athenian play write, Euripides.

Medea, a powerful sorceress, have given up everything and killed her own father all to help her husband Jason in is quest to steal the golden fleece. Now both Jason and Medea have been exiled and fled to Corinth with their two sons. After all this Jason hits Medea with a deep betrayal. Jason marries the daughter of Creon the King of Corinth with out so much as telling Medea. Whats worse her and her sons are now facing banishment. Medea has one day left in the city. What can a woman stripped of every measure of safety and dignity left only with her anger do in one day? Come to the show and see her story unfold!
