Join Ranger Daniel at Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site to learn about the history and craft of making furniture in early New Mexico. He will lead an interactive workshop that discusses the tools and materials artisans used to create chairs, tables, cupboards, and other items for the home. You will have the opportunity to examine pieces of historic furniture in the museum’s vast collection, including handcrafted items made in Mesilla. Participants will receive instructions for creating their own model of a chair based on a Spanish Colonial design from the 18th-century. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children (16 and under).
