Della Warrior Endowment Fund

The Museum of New Mexico Foundation has established the Della Warrior Endowment Fund to support the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) in honor of the museum’s former director.

Della Warrior (Otoe-Missouria) was appointed Executive Director of MIAC in 2013. After eight years overseeing more than 30 exhibits and countless programs, she retired from her position in August 2021. She has been credited with strengthening the museum’s collection of Native art, establishing innovative educational exhibits and building strong relations with Indigenous communities in the Southwest and beyond during her tenure.

One of Della’s major goals as Director was to grow MIAC’s endowments to $1 million in principle invested. In an effort to support Della’s mission, the Museum of New Mexico Foundation has established the Della Warrior Endowment Fund to generate support for MIAC exhibits and educational programs for years to come. Two donors have each pledged $100,000 to the endowment fund to match any and all contributions, up to $200,000. Help us meet the challenge!
