Join us for "A Sweet Taste of History: Chocolate & Jazz," a special event celebrating New Mexico’s culinary heritage and the captivating rhythms of jazz. This event is part of our ongoing Food Heritage Series and is designed to enhance your experience with our "Forks in the Road" exhibit.

What Sweet Delights Await You:
1:00 PM - 1:15 PM: Welcome and Historical Bites Hear from Museum staff as we kick off the event and provide a brief introduction to the "Forks in the Road" exhibit and our Food Heritage Series. We’ll also introduce the renowned Kakawa Chocolate House and the talented Chef Johnny Vee, who will guide us through the fascinating history of chocolate in New Mexico and the Americas. 1:15 PM - 2:15 PM: A Taste of History: Chocolate Tasting & Demonstration Embark on a delectable journey with Kakawa Chocolate House as they present a tasting and demonstration of various chocolate varieties and pairings. Discover the historical and cultural significance of chocolate in our region, with insightful commentary from Chef Johnny Vee. 2:15 PM - 4:00 PM: Smooth Sounds & Exhibit Exploration Immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of live jazz music performed by talented local musicians, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere. Take this opportunity to explore the "Forks in the Road" exhibit at your own pace, further connecting with New Mexico’s diverse culinary past.
