
Harvey Girls Evening: Mini-Author Fair and Documentary Screening

Join us for a special evening of Fred Harvey authors who will be on hand to sign copies of their books, followed by a screening of Katrina Parks’ acclaimed documentary “The Harvey Girls: Opportunity Bound”.
For a single night, several Fred Harvey related authors and experts will be together to sign books and answer questions. Following the author signing, at 5:30pm, will be a rare screening of the notable Harvey Girls documentary. Both events are free and open to the public, no tickets needed.

Why:
Harvey Authors include Stephen Fried (“Appetite for America”), Diana Pardue (“Over the Edge”), Suzanne Stauffer (“Chicken Fried Casteneda”), Harold Stacy (“The Southwest Indian Detours- A Family Heritage”) and Juliette Fay with this year’s breakout sensation “The Harvey Girls” a novel. The signing will be 5-5:30pm and books will be available for purchase at the Museum Shop. The event is free and open to the public and attendees are welcome to bring personal copies of the books.
Following the author event will be a showing of the 2013 documentary by notable filmmaker Katrina Parks. This historical documentary highlights the stories of some of the brave young women who traveled west to work as waitresses along the railroad. Admission is free and we invite you to join us for a rare showing of this remarkable film.
