Las Posadas on the Plaza

The 48th annual candle-lit procession of “Las Posadas” presented by the Holy Cross Catholic Church of Española, Coro Agua de Fria, and Santa Fe Fiesta, Inc.—reenacts the journey of Mary and Joseph as they searched for a place to stay in Bethlehem.  The procession travels around the Santa Fe Plaza and concludes at the Santa Fe Plaza Bandstand with traditional carols. 

Cookies and hot apple cider will be served under the Palace of the Governors’ Portal, hosted by the New Mexico History Museum. Please arrive early to the Plaza for your procession candle. 

Note: The Museum will close at 3:00 p.m. to prepare for this free public event.
