Celebrate New Mexico Traditions during Jemez Historic Site’s annual holiday event, Lights of Gisewa in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. The remains of Gisewa Pueblo and San José de los Jemez Mission will be decorated with hundreds of farolitos.

The evening’s program includes Pueblo dances between two bonfires by the Northern-Southern Pueblo Dancers from Jemez Pueblo and Ohkay Owingeh, Red Mesa Dance Group, and Lightning Eagle Dance Group from Jemez Pueblo. Native artisans will sell arts, crafts, and food at the event. Enjoy live musical performances by Adrian Wall (Jemez) and Steven Toya (Jemez/Zia).

To maintain the safety and enjoyment of high attendance, New Mexico Historic Sites (NMHS) kindly requests that guests refrain from the use of tripods and flash photography. Additionally, while NMHS generally welcomes well-behaved pets on leashes, for the safety of your animals, pets are not allowed at this event. Service animals are always welcome.

Tickets for timed entry every 30 minutes are $20 for adults, $10 for children 16 and younger, and free to Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, Museum of New Mexico Foundation members, and Friends of Coronado and Jemez members.

Jemez Historic Site is located on NM Highway 4, just north of Jemez Springs, New Mexico. From Bernalillo, take Highway 550 north to San Isidro. Head north on HWY 4 through Jemez Springs.
