Join special guest, photographer Joey Sandoval from Albuquerque, for a photography workshop at Jemez Historic Site teaching people the basics of DSLR (digital single lens reflex) cameras and cellphone photography (Android and iOS). The focus will be on how to take nighttime photos of the sky and functions for exposure and composition, rule of thirds, focal points, and exposure for effect. Light refreshments will be served. Explore Jemez Springs afterward and then come back for our nighttime astronomy program, Stargazing at Gisewa from 8 – 10 p.m. which includes nighttime sky viewing and other fun activities.

Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, Joey Sandoval has been a student of life and the arts since he can remember. Trained as a graphic designer, his passion is photography. He has shown his photography at various venues throughout Albuquerque, most recently at The Groove gallery for a night sky showing. He also shoots portraits and fashion and participates with the Guerrilla Photo Group in Albuquerque.

Looking to the Skies is included with admission of $7 for adults and free to children 16 years and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and FCJHS and MNMF members.
