Pável Acevedo is a printmaker, muralist, and art educator based in Los Angeles, California. He began his artistic practice as a self-taught artist on the Oaxacan coast, later pursuing formal education in Oaxaca City. As a student at the Rufino Tamayo Studio, he participated in lithography and painting workshops and completed his studies at the Fine Arts School of Oaxaca City.

Acevedo emigrated from Oaxaca to Riverside, California, where he established his print studio, Mixtepec. His work has been exhibited in public and private spaces throughout the United States, including California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and New York, as well as internationally in Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. His past art residencies include Self-Help Graphics, KALA Art Institute, Fullerton Community College, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), Art Share LA, College of the Canyons, and Horned Toad Print Shop.

Dr. Julián Antonio Estrada joined the University of New Mexico’s (UNM) Maxwell Museum of Anthropology as its Curator of Public Programs in 2021. That same year, he earned his PhD in Anthropology from Indiana University Bloomington. From 2018-2020, he was the full-time Program Manager of the statewide "Living Cultures Grant Program" for the Alliance for California Traditional Arts, in San Francisco, California. In 2018, he was a Visiting Student Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in Washington, DC, where he began writing his dissertation.
