Ranger Walk ’N Talk

Join Interpretive Ranger Kara on a guided ranger tour through Los Luceros’ historic district on Sundays*, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. She will discuss the history of the site, its buildings, and the fantastic characters of its past. Guests will be guided around the site and its buildings, including the Victorian Cottage, the plans for which were purchased from a catalogue by Abel Lucero near the beginning of the 20th century. They will also be able to see the 19th century capilla, or chapel, which houses fantastic religious artwork by santera Clare Cresap Villa. Visitors will also learn about other interesting characters from the past who lived and worked on the property. Meet in the Visitor Center to begin the tour.

The tour is included with admission of $7/adults and free to children 16 and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans and NM foster families. Admission is free to NM residents on the first Sunday of each month.

Note: The Hacienda is currently closed due to restoration taking place, so we will not go inside the building.

*No tours on Sun., Aug. 10, Sept. 21, Oct. 12, and Oct. 26.
