Remedios Workshop: Foundational Preparations

Join Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area (NRGNHA), at Los Luceros Historic Site for a workshop on foundational remedios, or remedies. In this introductory class, participants will learn how to safely and respectfully forage for useful plants, identify common medicinal herbs, and understand the connection between food and wellness. Together, we will explore the concept of food as medicine, preparing simple herbal teas and traditional kitchen remedies that can support everyday health and well-being. Participants will gain hands-on experience working with herbs and learn practical ways to incorporate natural remedies into their daily lives.

This class is perfect for beginners interested in traditional plant knowledge, herbal medicine, and the rich cultural heritage of New Mexico’s healing traditions. No previous experience is necessary. All materials are provided.
