Stargazing at Gisewa
Spend an evening under the stars at Jemez Historic Site learning about nighttime photography, as well as viewing the stars from telescopes. Photographer Joey Sandoval will teach participants how to take photos of the night sky using either a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera or a cellphone (Android and iOS). Members of The Albuquerque Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up on the camposanto for nighttime viewing of the stars. Pueblo food and art vendors will be selling their goods at the event.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, Joey Sandoval has been a student of life and the arts since he can remember. Trained as a graphic designer, his passion is photography. He has shown his photography at various venues throughout Albuquerque, most recently at The Groove gallery for a night sky showing. He also shoots portraits and fashion and participates with the Guerrilla Photo Group in Albuquerque.
Admission is $10 for adults, free to children 16 and younger, Tribal members, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and FCJHS and MNMF members. Purchase tickets online at https://my.nmculture.org/44490/47666.
