Exploring the Southwest with Circles Explorers

Philanthropy with a spirit of adventure.

There’s something unforgettable about waking in a luxury canvas tent on a Ted Turner Reserve—surrounded by vast landscapes, wildlife and the silence of untouched places.

These are the kinds of moments that define the Circles Explorers experience.

Circles Explorers is a special tier of The Circles, the Museum of New Mexico Foundation’s premier membership group. Designed for those with a keen sense of adventure and a passion for arts and culture, it blends exclusive museum access with immersive adventures across New Mexico.

In late spring (May 30–June 1, 2025), Explorers glamped at Vermejo, a 550,000‑acre Ted Turner Reserve that spans northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. Members experienced expertly guided wildlife viewing—scouting for bison, elk, black bears and more—along over 30 miles of streams and 19 fishable lakes, all while immersed in comfortable, crafted glamping accommodations. All while savoring delectable meals prepared by the group's personal gourmet chef.

Coming this August 22–24, 2025, the adventure moves south to Armendaris and Ladder Ranches, also Ted Turner Reserves. These neighboring properties—360,000 acres of Chihuahuan desert mesa and 156,000 acres of river‑fed landscape—offer fresh terrain for exploration. Hosted from Sierra Grande, a Ted Turner retreat, the weekend will include guided nature walks, sunset talks and agricultural insights deep in the heart of the desert.
