Legacy | October 2026

Give Today. Leave a Legacy for Tomorrow.
This October, there are two opportunities to put your philanthropy to work — today and for generations to come. If you have a Donor Advised Fund, DAF Day on October 8 is a wonderful time to recommend a grant to the Foundation. Your DAF gift can help support the museums, historic sites and archaeological work that preserve and share New Mexico’s stories and the world’s folk arts.

In Fiscal Year 2026, the Foundation received $716,215 in donations from DAFs and Family Foundations from 160 households. In Fiscal Year 2027 to date, we have received $186,512 from 28 donors. These gifts have a tremendous impact on the Foundation’s ability to raise funds for the cultural institutions we support as well as provide needed funds for exhibitions and educational programs.
Later in the month, Estate Planning Awareness Week, October 19–25, offers a chance to think about the legacy you want to leave. Review your will, trust and beneficiary designations and consider whether your plans reflect what matters most to you.
A gift through your estate plan can extend your support for New Mexico’s cultural heritage well beyond your lifetime. You can name the Museum of New Mexico Foundation in your will or trust or as a beneficiary of certain assets, including a Donor-Advised Fund.
If you have already included the Foundation in your plans, we would be honored to know about your legacy and welcome you to the MNMF Legacy Society.
Your generosity today helps shape New Mexico’s cultural life. Your legacy can help sustain it for generations to come.
