National Estate Planning Awareness Week: Protecting Your Legacy and Your Loved Ones
Did you know that National Estate Planning Awareness Week is Oct. 16 - 22 this year? Do you have a will in place? It’s not surprising that more than half of Americans— between 50 and 67 percent—do not have proper estate plans in place. However, an estate plan, properly executed, not only protects you and your family in times of sickness, accidents, or unforeseen events but also ensures that your hard-earned assets are distributed according to your wishes. Moreover, it allows you to make a lasting impact by supporting the causes you hold dear.
If you haven't already established an estate plan or haven't reviewed it recently, now is the perfect moment to consult with an experienced estate planning attorney. They can help you clarify your intentions and ensure your legacy is preserved. By including MNMF or one of the cultural institutions we support in your estate plans, you can become a valued member of our Legacy Society. If you have included MNMF or one of the cultural institutions we support in your will or estate plans, it would be helpful for us to know your intentions so we can include you in our Legacy Society.
The Museum Foundation has partnered with Thompson & Associates to provide complimentary charitable estate-planning services to prospective donors, current donors, current and former board members of the Foundation. Please let us know if you are interested in participating. Click here to view a video explaining their service.
If you have any questions or would like more information about how to include the Museum Foundation or one of the cultural institutions we support in your estate plans, please contact Laura Sullivan at laura@museumfoundation.org.
