MIAC | OCTOBER 2023
Adriana Greci Green, curator of Indigenous Arts of the Americas at the Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia, and Polly Nordstrand (Hopi), executive director of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, at the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts.
MIAC staff had a wonderful time supporting artists and partner institutions at SWAIA this year. The Breakfast with the Curators series was recently highlighted in Hyperallergic, and the 2023 Goodman Fellowship recipient, Jontay Kahm, received incredible recognition in Vogue magazine.
We are excited to announce that the Collectors’ Sale is back October 20-22. The event will feature a live auction, a two-day fixed price sale and complimentary programming. All proceeds from this sale will benefit MIAC’s exhibitions and ongoing outreach efforts. To donate or consign your Native artwork, visit MIAC on a designated drop-off day or email collectorsale@museumfoundation.org.
Community Day will return to MIAC on Sunday, October 1. The day will feature dances, hands-on educational activities, storytelling and a free Pueblo lunch for all attendees.
