Museum Shops | January 2026
Thank you to everyone who spent this year shopping with us. Your support is so appreciated and helped us exceed sales numbers from last year, despite rather bleak retail predictions.
This year’s Member Sale was one of our best to date, with this year’s sales topping last year by nearly 9%. This comes on the heels of a great first half of FY26 for the Shops. We’ve been outpacing last year by almost 10%. We credit this jump in sales to some wonderful exhibitions at the museums that allow for diverse product displays.

At the New Mexico Museum of Art, we’ve had two wonderful exhibitions that brought visitors in who were ready to shop! Timeless Mucha at the Vladem Contemporary brought opportunities for some dynamic product featuring artwork by Alphonse Mucha as well as artwork inspired by the Psychedelic Rock era.

Gustave Baumann: The Artist’s Environment at the Plaza Building continues to be a fan favorite, drawing in fans of Baumann’s work from woodblock prints to marionettes and everything in between. This exhibition brought an opportunity to update our custom product selection, from notecards to posters to tote bags to silk scarves.

At the Museum of International Folk Art, the Weaving Meanings exhibition is still holding strong. Visitors love that they can purchase baskets in the shop that are made by the same weavers in the exhibition. In addition to baskets, we’ve also developed some custom products that have been super successful, including a t-shirt and a tote bag.
