CIRCLES | AUGUST 2023
This August is also filled with multiple events. August 3 – 6, sixteen Explorers went on a sold-out adventure to Silver City. Some of the sights they saw were a weaving demo by Hosana Eilert, a hands-on behind-the-scenes tour at the Western NM University Museum with Director Daniel Romero, a day of touring the Gila Cliff Dwellings and a morning tour of Mimbres Cultural Heritage Site.
On August 12, we had our sold-out event Cocktails with the Collectors (Governor’s Circle level and above) at the home of Jodi Vevoda and Will Prull.
Finishing up the month of events with our Circles Signature Summer event at the Randal Davey Audubon Center and Sanctuary, August 19, from noon to 2pm. This luncheon picnic will showcase our educators from our museums who are planning fun activities for all, so bring the kids and grandkids too. Our featured educators will be Leslie Fagre, Dawn Kaufmann, Patricia Sigala and Gomez Kemely from the Museum of International Folk Art, Shannon Bay and Chris Nail from the New Mexico Museum of Art and Vladem Contemporary, Alexandra McKinney from our New Mexico Historic Sites, and Pete McCracken from our Palace press.
