In 2023, MIAC commissioned a special tapestry from the sisters Lynda Teller Pete and Barbara Teller Ornelas (Diné), considered to be the premier Navajo weavers today. Its creation is being
documented from the spinning and dyeing of the wool to the actual weaving and finishing. The tapestry will be ready in 2024. Thanks to you, FIA has funded this work for inclusion in the
permanent MIAC collection. The two sisters will present the tapestry and describe the thinking and work that went into its creation.
