Please join Ileana Alarcón, a Santa Fe Vital Spaces Artist, in making a collection of small creatures to add to her Window Box installation, Madremonte. Inspired by the Colombian legend of la Madremonte (Mother Mountain), the jungle-themed installation seeks to remind viewers about our climate crisis and call the community to immediate action.

After the sculptures are dry, participants are invited back, but not required, to paint the creatures. These will be added to the installation as an offering to la Madremonte and a symbol of commitment to climate action. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear something you don’t mind getting messy.

This will be a 2-part event. You may sign up to participate in one or both of the parts. The event is FREE, but registration is required.
