MEMBERSHIP | FEBRUARY 2024

Membership is doing well on revenue. At time of writing this blog (mid-January) we only had $12,000 more to go on our goal for the month. Overall the program is trending $40,000 ahead thank you to our committed members.

Our year of member programming kicked off in January with a Member Monday on January 22 with curators Christian Wageuspack and Katherine Ware. More than 100 members at the Family/Grandparents level and a few prospects attended. Thank you, MOA team, for providing these exclusive experiences for our members.
Our next member event is on Friday, February 23 for a Member Day Preview of the new exhibition Staff Picks at the Museum of International Folk Art. In honor of the museum’s 70 anniversary, Staff Picks: Favorites from the Collection, brings together 34 museum staff from six departments who have selected pieces from the permanent collection for exhibition. Throughout the day, staff will be in the gallery to discuss the pieces they chose. This event is for members at all levels.

The membership team recently met about our spring campaigns to acquire new members, bring back expired members and encourage members to increase their support. Details on each of these campaigns will be released soon.

On the communications side, we’re in the production phase of our spring Member News which will focus on the recently renovated Palace of the Governors. Our social media efforts are going well, with Jacque Coleman and Siarza Social Digital managing our Facebook and Instagram Accounts. We’re nearly maxing out our $10,000 a month Google Ad Word account with help from our partner Cause Inspired Media who helps us bid on ad works and place museumfoundation.org at the top of Google results.

On technology, our team is extremely close to launching a few major digital projects that will enhance both the member experience and streamline our operations. I look forward to announcing what those updates are very soon!
