In the Museum Shops

Female cooperatives around the globe support women continuing their traditions while gaining greater economic and social freedom. The textiles above are made through a cooperative in Northern India where female artisans are paid a fair wage to produce their craft. These women work a flexible schedule either from home or within a facility in their village, which allows them more time with their families while earning a living.
